Air Greenland Flights

Greenland’s national airline, originally named Grønlandsfly, was founded in 1960. It was later renamed Air Greenland in 2002. The rapid growth that Greenland experienced in the 1960s and 1970s brought about an increase in demand for passenger and commodity transportation. This led to the appearance of more and more airports in the region, and so saw an increase in flights and movement in the area. Air Greenland rode on this wave of growth and grew into the airline they are today, becoming the only airline offering flights all year round between Denmark and Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq, and serving more about 400,000 passengers in recent years.
