Alitalia Flights

Alitalia, officially Alitalia – Compagnia Aerea Italiana S.p.A., is Italy's flag carrier and national airline based in Fiumicino, Rome, Italy. The main hub is at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport in Rome, and the secondary hub is at Linate Airport in Milan. The airline also offers non-stop flights to Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, Malpensa Airport, Pisa International Airport, Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza, Turin Airport, and Venice Marco Polo Airport. Alitalia's subsidiaries are Air One, Alitalia CityLiner, C.A.I. First, and C.A.I. Second.

The 'old' Alitalia was the bankrupt Alitalia - Linee Aeree Italiane, which was bought on November 19, 2008 by a group of investors that made the "Compagnia Aerea Italiana" (CAI) consortium with the goal of merging it with another Italian carrier, Air One. The old Alitalia's profitable assets were transferred to CAI after the company was bought, and on January 13, 2009, an officially new and different company under the same name, Alitalia, began operations.
