Croatia Airlines is the flag carrier of Croatia. Founded in 1989, the state-owned airline flies to 38 destinations in 23 countries, many on a seasonal basis. Most flights are within Europe, but they also fly several routes to Western Asia.

The airline is based at Zagreb Airport and also has a presence at Dubrovnik Airport and Split Airport. As a member of the Star Alliance, it has codeshare agreements with a number of airlines.

Croatia Airlines check in

You can check in for Croatia Airlines flights online or at the airport.

Online check-in is open from 23 hours to 1 hour before your departure. Check-in at the airport closes 1 hour before the flight, though it's advised that passengers arrive 2 hours before to avoid problems. You can also use quick check-in kiosks at certain airports.

Croatia Airlines seat selection

You can select your seat when you make your booking by choosing available locations from the seat map. If you want to change your seat later, you can contact Croatia Airlines before your flight or speak to their staff when checking in early at the airport.

Croatia Airlines baggage allowance and fees

Economy passengers can take 1 hand-carry item aboard, while business class passengers can take 2 (except on certain flights). These items should not weigh more than 8kg or be larger than 115cm in total dimensions.

The checked baggage allowance varies depending on the type of flight, the passenger's ticket class and their member status in the frequent flyer club. The allowance is 0 bags on most FlyEasy fares, 1 x 23kg bag for economy FlyOpti and FlyFlexi fares, 2 x 23kg for M & M silver members and FlyBizz passengers, and a maximum 3 x 32kg bags for Gold members in FlyBizz class.

If you need to purchase extra baggage, this costs 80kn-120kn for domestic flights or €30-€40 for international flights. The cheaper prices are for baggage purchased over 24 hours prior to departure.
