Tuy Hoa Airport

Dong Tac Airport, colloquially known as Sân bay Đông Tác, is a public airport situated south of Tuy Hoa, within the Phú Yên Province, along the central coast of Southern Vietnam. The airport is operated by the Middle Airport Authority. It resides at an elevation of six metres / 20 feet above mean sea level. It has a runway designated 03L/21R made of concrete at the length of 2,902 metres / 9,521 feet and another designated 02/20, with an asphalt surface at the length of 844 metres / 2,769 feet. There is also a closed runway designated 03R/21L, at the length of 2,935 metres / 9,300 feet with concrete surface.

Dong Tac Airport was built in 1966, known during the Vietnam War as Tuy Hoa Air Base. It was one of the South Vietnamese Air Force air bases built and used by the United States Air Force. Today, it is served by Vietnam Airlines, with flights to Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, and Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.

Tuy Hoa is the capital of the Phú Yên Province, a coastal province situated in the South Central Coast of Vietnam. Tuy Hòa occupies a total area of 107 square kilometres and in 2012 had a reported population of 202,030. Tuy Hoa has two mountains in the centre of the city, Chóp Chài Mountain and Nhạn Mountain. Together with the Đà Rằng River, the mountains offer poetic scenery. Atop the Nhan Mountain is a Champa Temple with a great view of the city. Tuy Hoa also has a fine white sand beach that is popular amongst tourists.
