The Angling Lake-Wapekeka Airport is a community airport located 2.8 kilometres west of the First Nations settlement in Wapekeka in Ontario, Canada, to the east of the Big Trout Lake. Wapekeka is an Oji-Cree community in the Kenora District, located approximately 450 kilometres northeast of Sioux Lookout. The registered population of the commune was 375 in 2008, of which the on-reserve population was 355. The airport is operated and managed by the Province of Ontario, and consists of a gravel runway with published instrument approaches. Sometimes, the airport is confused with the Lac Du Bonnet Airport, another airport within the confines of the community. The airport is a registered aerodrome, located in Manitoba. The Lac du Bonnet Airport is sometimes interchanged with the former since their airport codes are almost the same - the former having the code YAX under IATA, while the latter has the ICAO code CYAX. Currently, there is no information as regards to the airport’s services including airline services, immigration services, departures, arrivals, and the like. There are also no listings found regarding flight information, terminal structure, and others. Because of this, travellers who are planning to go to Big Trout Lake or to the Wapekeka commune are advised to take other airports within Ontario to reach the Wapekeka area and Ontario itself. Alternative airports include the Toronto-Pearson International Airport, the Hamilton-John C. Munro International Airport, London International Airport, Ottawa-Macdonald Cartier International Airport, and many others.
