The North Spirit Lake Airport is located southeast of the First Nations community of North Spirit Lake, in Ontario, Canada. The airport is situated on a 'First Nations' community of various Aboriginal peoples in Canada, or its first inhabitants. The North Spirit Lake settlement is a small Oji-Cree community in Northern Ontario, connected to Sandy Lake First Nation and Deer Lake First Nation, and a part of the Keewaytinook Okimakanak Council (Northern Chiefs) and the Nishnawbe Aski Nation. Currently, the airport is publicly owned by the Government of Ontario with a gravel runway of 3,518 feet and an elevation of 1,082 feet. Routes from the airport are limited to Pikangikum Airport and Poplar Hill Airport via Wasaya Airways.
A single-storey main settlement serves as the main terminal for the North Spirit Lake Airport.
Services and Facilities
Facilities are limited to the basic gravel runway since the airport only serves as a transit or gateway airport to the North Spirit Lake First Nation in Ontario.
