Hougang is an urban planning area within the northeastern part of Singapore. Among its top spots include shopping malls like Hougang Mall, Kang Kar Mall, Heartland Mall, Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre and Hougang 1.
Driving to Hougang, get on Island Club Rd, for 500 metres, please be advised that this road is a restricted usage road. Take a right turn to stay on Island Club Rd for another 800 metres, then take a left on Upper Thomson Rd for 700 metres. Take a right on Ang mo Kio Ave 1 for 4.9 kilometres then get on Boundary Rd, drive down for 1.1 kilometres to reach Upper Serangoon Rd after 1.5 kilometres. Getting to Hougang, drive for a total of approximately 9.5 kilometres, with an estimated total travel time of 21 minutes.
Known as the largest residential area of Singapore, Tampines, also referred to as Tampines New Town, also works as the second largest commercial hub outside Singapore’s Central Region. It houses a good amount of residential areas along with commercial spots that include Tampines Mall, Tampines Regional Library, along with Sunplaza Park, Tampines Bike Park, and Tampines Eco Green.
Getting to Tampines requires driving down SLE starting from Upper Thomson Rd, which will take six kilometres or nine minutes. Next, continue moving down SLE then take TPE to reach PIE after 19.4 kilometres or 16 minutes. To get to Tampines, travel time is at 27 minutes in total, with a total distance of 25.4 kilometres from the point of origin.
Choa Chu Kang
Also referred to as Choa Chu Kang, or Choa Chu Kang New Town, it offers Lot One, Choa Chu kang Community Library, along with Yew Tree Square, Yew Tree Point, Choa Chu Kang Park, Choa Chu Kang Stadium, and more.
From Upper Thomson Rd, drive to SLE for 5.8 kilometres or nine minutes then continue on SLE to get to Choa Chu Kang after exiting by exit 3 and merging onto Choa Chu Kang Dr, this will take around 13.6 kilometres or 12 minutes. Total drive time is 23 minutes, or 20 minutes without traffic, covering a distance of around 20 kilometres.
