Goa International Airport is a joint public and military airport owned by the Goa & Indian Navy, and operated by the Airports Authority of India. More commonly known as Dabolim Airport, it serves the state of Goa in India, located in the city of Dabolim, four kilometres from the nearest city Vasco de Gama, 23 kilometres from the Margao South Goa district headquarters, and 30 kilometres from the state capital Panjim. Goa International Airport is the only airport in Goa, operating as a civil enclave in a military airbase, INS Hansa. The airport resides at an elevation of 56 metres or 184 feet above mean sea level, and has an asphalt-surfaced runway designated 08/26 that is 3,958 metres or 13,345 feet long. It has two terminals, Terminal 1 for domestic flights, and Terminal 2 for international flights.

Goa International Airport is well-connected to the six main cities of India – Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata. Additionally, the airport also handles domestic flights to Kochi, Indore, Pune, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur.

There are also memorials of Mahatma Gandhi to be found here, housed in Raj Ghat.

From Goa International Airport, travellers can fly directly to other Asian destinations such as Sharjah, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Kuwait City, Muscat, Tehran (seasonal), Doha, and Al Ain (seasonal).

Goa International Airport also operates long-haul seasonal flights to cities in Europe. The airport connects Goa state to Russian destinations, as well as to Munich, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Edinburgh, London, Manchester, and Kiev.

Munich, the capital of the German state of Bavaria, is the third largest city in Germany. The city is home to some of the country’s major museums and theatres, as well as picturesque architectural attractions. Oktoberfest is held here, too, which is a major tourist attraction. Munich is also known for its breweries and the Weissbier or wheat beer, a speciality from Bavaria.
