Konarak International Airport is a military airport that serves and is located in Chabahar, the southernmost city in Iran. It is elevated at 13 metres (43 feet) above mean sea level and can be found on the map at these coordinates: 25°26′36″N 060°22′55″E. It has two asphalt runways, directed 09R/27L and 09L/27R, measuring 3,000 metres (9,844 feet) and 3,814 metres (12,514 feet), respectively.

Chabahar, formerly known as Bandar Beheshtī) is the capital of Chah Bahar County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran. It is a free port (Free Trade Zone) on the coast of the Gulf of Oman. Although it is the most distant city of Iran, it has the most exotic nature and culture in the country, not to mention, a wide variety of natural and historical phenomenon. Explore the Mangrove forest, home to a valuable species of seabirds such as flamingo, eagle, and heron, among others; Chabahar Beaches, which have one of the most scenic coastal areas in the country; Lipar Lagoon, located near to Ramin Village; the beautiful Mars or Martian Mounts, also known as koohaye merikhi, which are a type of badlands that expand out parallel to the sea, which are also considered to be symbols of the unique geo-morphological phenomena of the city; the historic Tis Fortress, which was believed to be used as watch-towers and lighthouse and dates back to Islamic era; Historical Port Village of Tis, which used to be the commercial centre for sugar and wheat of Makran and Sistan provinces; Old Telegraph Building, one of the oldest stone buildings in the city; Banmasity Caves, a complex that has two natural and an artificial cave located in Tis village, used for worship and religious or official ceremonies; and Gwater Castle, located in the farthest southeast of Iran, which has an ancient graveyard and a well, and where discovered earthen wares and postsherds were found that belong to the third millennium B.C.
At present, there are only a few domestic flights offered at Konarak International Airport. No international flights are available. It is recommended to book a connecting flight to Mehrabad International Airport, which offers both domestic and international flights.

Konarak International Airport is currently served by four airlines: Iran Air (Bandar Abbas, Tehran-Mehrabad, Zahedan), Iran Air Tours (Zahedan), Iran Aseman Airlines (Mashhad, Muscat), and Qeshm Airlines (Tehran-Mehrabad). Chabahar is also connected to national road networks with four main routes connecting the city to national and international roads.
