Novosibirsk is probably everything that you think Siberia is not. This is a metropolis of 1.5 million people! I was shocked when I stepped off the train as I had been picturing a sleepy town full of old Babushkas. The city is full of statues and monuments and has a charming blend of old school Soviet architecture and modern design.
