According to Canstar ratings, Challenge provides the best service stations, closely followed by Z. These were judged in five categories:

- Range of other items
Gull Service Stations was the only company to be given five stars for the price of its petrol.
How old do you have to be to rent a car in New Zealand?

How much you will be charged varies depending on the company you rent from, how long you have your car and the model of car you hire.
