Auckland International Airport (AKL) is New Zealand's largest airport. The International Terminal is open 24 hours a day. Check-in counters are on the ground floor, to the left as you enter the terminal.

Once you've got your boarding pass, you can head up the escalators to the security screening. Cafes, restaurants and shops can be found on both sides of the bag checks.

To pass the time while waiting for your flight to Mumbai, you can visit an airline lounge, browse the duty-free shops or use the complimentary Wi-Fi for up to 45 minutes (90 minutes for Strata club members).

Mumbai Airport (BOM), officially called Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, is the 2nd busiest airport in India after New Delhi Airport. It's 30km north of Mumbai city centre.

International flights from Auckland arrive at Terminal 2, which opened in 2014. After arriving on level 2, you can head down to level 1 to book accommodation and transport.

The fastest way to get from the airport to the city is by taxi. This takes around 12 minutes in good traffic and costs 420-550 rupees. Public buses are cheaper at 30-35 rupees, but can be slower and crowded. The station is not directly connected to the Mumbai Metro, but you can take a connecting bus to nearby stations.
