Connecticut is a U.S. state, the southernmost in the region known New England. It is also part of the area known as the Tri-State area, which comprises of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. The 14,357-km2 state got its name from the Connecticut River, which bisects the state. The capital city is Hartfort, while the most populous city is Bridgeport.

Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration - The Mystic Aquarium in the city of Mystic is an aquarium and oceanography institute. Opened on 6 October 1973, it is part of the non-profit organization, Sea Research Foundation. Mystic Aquarium features one of the large-set outdoor Beluga whale exhibits in the United States, and is one of only three U.S. facilities holding Steller sea lions.

Quassy Amusement Park - It is a theme park, as well as a water park, located in the town Middlebury of Connecticut, USA. The place has a total of 22 rides, including two roller coasters and seven water rides. It has been rooted there in Connecticut for over one hundred years, serving up entertainment for family and friends.

The Children's Museum - Found in the place called West Hartford, The Children's museum is the biggest and oldest museum for kids. It is known for offering workshops, demonstrations, interactive labs and most of all a live wildlife sanctuary. The museum strives for children to become more curious about the wonders of science and nature, giving them engaging lessons in real life rather than having them read everything off a textbook.

Dinosaur State Park and Arboretum - The Dinosaur State Park and Arboretum about 20 minutes south of Hartford is an unusual 63-acre state park. In it is one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America, from the early Jurassic period. The park features an annual event called the Dinosaur State Park Day, usually held around August, which invites visitors to participate in the games, listen to live music, explore the park, and experiment with arts and crafts.

How to get around within Connecticut

The easiest way to travel around Connecticut, as with many states in the U.S.A., is by car. Even public transportation in the capital is not very tourist-friendly, so renting a car is advisable. There is, of course, bus service available, as well as taxi service.

The civil/military airport in Windsor Locks, called Bradley International Airport, is one of the main air passenger gateways into New England. It is used mostly by travellers coming into Connecticut from within USA, but also receives flights from Montreal and Toronto. Airlines serving Bradley International Airport are JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, United Express, US Airways, US Airways Express, and Air Canada Express. Other regional airports in Connecticut include Tweed New Haven Regional Airport, Waterbury-Oxford Airport, Sikorsky Mem'l Airport, Meriden Airport, and Danbury Municipal Airport. Travellers can also reach the state by flying into John F. Kennedy International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, or LaGuardia Airport in the New York City area. This is especially ideal for international travellers who aim to come into the western part of Connecticut. For the northeast corner of the state, flying into Logan International Airport in Boston is ideal. However, it is far from any of the major cities.
