Why Fly with Singapore Airlines

Ways To Check-In

Singapore Airlines offers airport, kiosk and online check-in. All these services open 48 hours before your flight is due to leave and, for online check-in, closes 90 minutes before take-off.

Self-service kiosks are available in 9 airports across the world, helping passengers get ready for their flights more efficiently. As well as Singapore Changi Airport, this is possible in Heathrow, LAX, Schiphol and 5 others.

For short trips, it's possible to check in for the return leg at the same time as your outbound flight.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

All passengers on Singapore Airlines are entitled to checked baggage. This starts at a 30kg allowance for economy passengers with no limit on the number of bags, except on flights to the USA where there is a limit of 2 pieces with a maximum weight of 23kg each.

For all flights, the dimensions of your checked baggage items must not be more than 158cm. Gold members of the KrisFlyer club are entitled to extra baggage.

Economy passengers are also allowed 1 piece of cabin luggage up to 7kg and 115cm in dimension, as well as 1 additional item such as a handbag, umbrella or infant amenities.

If your baggage is over the specified weight limits, you'll be charged a fee. This starts at US$8/kg and goes up to US$110/kg depending on the 2 airports involved in your trip.

Inflight Services

Singapore Airlines is regularly among the top ranked carriers in the world, and in 2016 it placed third overall for the world's best airline in Skytrax rankings. It also won awards for Best Airline in Asia and the Best Business Class Seat.

Seating can be picked on Singapore Airlines flights from the moment you book right up until you've checked in. This is easiest to do through the 'manage booking' feature on the Singapore Airlines website. You will need your booking reference code to access this section.

Special seats, such as those in the bassinet row, can only be reserved by qualifying passengers.
