Jarlshof - Located beside the airport, Jarlshof is an impressive archaeological site that depicts several periods of occupation, where you can witness the changes from each era. On top of the site is the 16th century house. It contains remains dating from 2500 BC up to the 17th century AD.

How to get around within Sumburgh

Sumburgh is a remote settlement and any form of public transportation will be difficult. The only establishments that can be found are the lighthouse, the airport, and a few lodges and hotels. People usually travel by foot and most of the distances are quite accessible and possible to walk to. However, to go to other islands in Shetland, you can do so by ferryboat or plane.
