Good location and environment to stay

The rooms and furnitures are clean, kitchen is large and you can enjoy eating and talking with your friends. The area of smoking and non-smoking is separated. Owner and staff are kind and friendly. They tell about work and activities around Coffs Harbour. The rent is a little bit expensive but you can borrow surfboard, bodyboard, kayak, and fishing tools and so on.
設備もきれいでキッチンは広々しているため食事や友達と話しながら楽しく生活できます。オーナー・スタッフ共に親切で周辺のアクティビティや仕事のことなども相談にのってくださいます。家賃はやや高めと感じましたが、その分サーフボードなど色々レンタルできるため、海で遊ぶ際に利用されるのがおすすめです。

TO FLEE

to flee ! Unmaintained hostel, in the rooms there is no air and it smells very musty. In the women's toilets, only one in four showers locks and the sink gets clogged as soon as you want to wash your hands. Concerning the living space, everything is dirty, everything is lying around and there is even food that is moldy (fruit not put in the trash and placed on the sofa). The swimming pool is dirty and it is also not maintained. When we arrive, the owner gives us “clean” linen so we can make our beds. This “clean” linen is placed on a table under a shed where the owner smokes (nice smell when you sleep). Anyway, it’s better to sleep under the stars than in this pigsty

Bad experience, strongly advise against!

Cheap youth hostel, but not worth more!
It's very poorly maintained, not clean at all, the rooms are very small for the number of people there are, moldy fridge, stained bedding...
The manager smokes in the establishment, it creates a mixture of smells... makes you want to vomit
Ps: even if the Backpackers have to clean up after themselves, there is no hygiene from the manager!

Disappointing

Stayed a few times...bathrooms and toilets mostly clean but lots of black mould, kitchen is functional, minimal cooking space or room to move, no fridge space, no freezer space and theft of food constant. Too many homeless and I mean halfway house homeless, it's full of seasonal and long-termers living there; most and some are years living there, dope smoke wafts about, Jackie manager is great, no parking, all the amenities stated are not true. Free laundry wash was cool but the amount of long term homeless halfway house people living there smoking inside was a pain! You go to bed smelling like a 20 a day smoker. Wifi is tolerable is the main area only. Again don't expect to watch tv or a movie, long-term "backpackers" will see that that won't work. I found the true backpackers passing through very nice and very shocked at residents and smoke stench. Fire alarms ringing randomly. Pool is unused due to feral crowd sitting, staring & smoking in front of pool. No rentals of any kind. No privacy curtains on bunks. Why do backpacking facilities seem to think that everything will remain new and usable, my god there comes a time to replace stuff, hand towels may be clean but if they look like they've just cleaned an engine block...replace them!! Backpacker hostels are now a misnomer... they're fast becoming halfway houses. Jackie was the only redeeming thing about the place.

Awful

Terrible, terrible place. The owners are the worst people and my stay was ruined by their negative demeanor. They close the outside area really early and generally infect the place with their hostility and bad attitudes. Honestly dont stay here .

Hey Alex B i am not sure what you mean by negative demeanor, we enjoy meeting people and go out of our way to provide a positive experience for our guests. We do close the outside area at 11.00pm for the comfort of all our guests, there are other options for those wishing to party. Oh well you know the saying ...“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't …” … please all the people all of the time” Safe Travels
