Hotel concept top - We love it! - But the mattress is a flop
This was our third stay at an Explorer Hotel (previously Berchtesgaden + Obersdorf). We love the hotel concept. No closets in the room, but instead endless shelf space and hooks. Enough outlets for charging cell phones. They have improved the bathroom compared to the other two hotels. A shelf on the wall and under the vanity provide space for all bathroom toiletries, so that you can completely unpack your cosmetic case :-)
The breakfast buffet offers everything your heart desires. The egg frying station is incomparable. However, anyone eating breakfast after 7:30 AM needs patience, as it gets a bit crowded at the buffet in all the hotels from then on.
The snack bar is very cozy in the evenings and offers delicious food. We recommend the salads and the pizza. Extremely delicious! The salad bowls are huge and also fill up men ;-) Still water is available for free from the tap upon request.
You can refill your own water bottle at the water station at any time. The drinking water tastes good.
The staff is super friendly and was always there, whether for questions about the stay or for service at the bar.
The location of the hotel is very good. All highlights of the valley are easily accessible by car or bus. We recommend a room with a valley view, as there is a huge building directly above the hotel. Below as well, but here you can see over it due to the hillside location.
What we did not like so much about this hotel:
In the shower, there is no shelf for shower gel + shampoo. Either you put everything on the floor or around the corner of the shower wall on the sink. Very uncomfortable.
The mattress is a disaster. For hygienic reasons, it has a plastic cover, which can be felt through the sheet. You feel like you are sleeping on a plastic bag and you sweat because the mattress does not absorb moisture. We all slept extremely poorly and were consequently more listless from day to day. Good thing it was only 4 nights.
Overall, things are always very quiet and chilled out in the hotels. Even in the rooms, you hardly hear any noise from other guests. We have only had good experiences here so far. During our current stay, however, a family of 5 with 3 small children required strong nerves. At breakfast, they completely stocked up for the day and took everything. 3 pans at once to fry bacon, 3/4 loaf of bread, and loaded up all the bananas. Even though it is not permitted to take daily provisions with you. We were approached about 3 slices of braided yeast bread, asking if we wanted to take them with us. In the evening, the children jumped around in the lobby and the bar, often with no sign of the parents. They had complete freedom and acted as if it were their hotel. That didn't just bother us. Here, we would have expected the staff to speak to them about being considerate of other guests.
Conclusion: Great area, great location, great hotel concept, delicious food, nice staff, but bad mattresses, so we will not book this Explorer Hotel again.

Es freut mich sehr, dass ihr Explorer Hotel Fans geworden seit! Wir bieten unseren Gästen einen coolen, unkomplizierten Aufenthalt mit allen Basics die man braucht in super Qualität.
Bei uns gibt's abends Kleinigkeiten. Obwohl wir kein klassisches Restaurant bieten, verhungern unsere Gäste definitiv nicht. 3 verschiedene Salate und Sandwiches sind die Klassiker unter unseren Barsnacks und ja, sie sind wirklich sehr lecker ;)
Euren Input zur Duschgel-Ablage habe ich an unsere Entwicklungsabteilung weitergegeben, danke dafür.
Ich bedaure sehr, dass ihr kein tolles Schalferlebnis bei uns hattet. Für uns ist das oberstes Gebot, dass unsere Gäste gut schlafen und dann erholt sind für den nächsten aktiven Tag.
Wir sind aktuell am Prüfen, ob wir die Matratzenschoner gegen andere Schoner austauschen. Wir haben in jedem Explorer Hotel Schoner auf den Matratzen, aber andere Modelle... Ich hoffe, dass wir dies zeitnah tauschen können.
Das Einpacken von Frühstück ist bei uns generell nicht erlaubt. Die Gäste haben 4h lang Zeit ihr Frühstück zu genießen und wenn etwas mitgenommen werden will, dann kann man ein Lunchpaket erwerben. Es tut mir sehr leid, dass ihr den Eindruck bekommen habt, dass wir nur euch auf das Einpacken angesprochen haben, aber wir versuchen wirklich jeden Gast, welcher was "heimlich" mitnimmt auf unser Lunchpaket aufmerksam zu machen. Ich habe den Buddies nochmals die Dringlichkeit, auch mithilfe deines Feedbacks, geschult, dass wir jeden, der was mitnimmt, darauf ansprechen, dass dies nicht erlaubt ist.
Ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr trotzdem nochmals Gast bei uns im Stubaital werdet, oder auch in einem der bald 12 Explorer Hotels. NEWS: Ende Oktober eröffnen wir das Explorer Hotel Bayrischzell ;)

oh, das freut mich aber, dass es dir so gut bei uns gefallen hat!
Unsere Auswahl am Frühstücksbuffet reicht von frischen Brötchen und Broten vom regionalen Bäcker bis hin zu selbstgemachtem Birchermüsli und frischen Früchten. Aber das wirkliche Highlight am Morgen ist unsere Eierbratstation. Hier brutzelst du selbst deine warme Frühstücksspeise und kannst auch noch pancakes frisch zubereiten ;)
Dein Lob an die Buddies habe ich mich mit Freude weitergeleitet :)
Wir hoffen, euer nächster Besuch lässt nicht zu lange auf sich warten!

I want to share my experience with you for this super eco-friendly hotel and very friendly staff!!
Location spot on
Breakfast with no ending eating all these yummy and high quality standards Müsli, cheese, the local honey, the self-made eggs, and the super variety of fresh daily bread!
Mara and her lovely team are always happy to help and make the buffet spotless clean and full!
At the bar, you can enjoy tasty goodies for quick hunger and have a chat with a lovely man, Evan..so joyful
We will definitely visit again soon
