We traveled with an assistant dog, so we booked the big suite. It was not cheap, I had to say, yet the staffs were very warm, kind and helpful! Their efforts did make us feeling welcome. The prices included breakfast and it had high quality of cheeses, cold cuts and smoked salmon. There were scrambled and boiled eggs, smoothies, fresh pastry…etc all were delicious! The hotel location was fantastic too. We were in the center so we walked everywhere. There were some noises outside because we opened the windows for the time we stayed there, but it didn’t bother us. If someone was sensitive with noises, just closed the windows or used the ear plugs in the room. We liked to thank the hotel for their hospitality!

Great stay with good service ⭐️
We had a really nice stay at the hotel. Everything was lovely and the staff were incredibly nice, friendly and welcoming. You really felt welcome from start to finish.
An extra big thanks for the fantastic service as they were so nice to order smoked cheese home for breakfast to us. It is really the kind of extra attention that makes a stay very special. ❤️
We highly recommend the hotel and will be happy to come back!

Honest review - hotel needs to be upfront with travellers.
1. At no point were we told that renovation will be going on and there will be considerable noise.
2. There are two separate sets of steps to reach the rooms. After going up the lift. God forbid you’re carrying heavy suitcases. Or have mobility issues. Again - no mention of this in hotels communication.
3. Trainee staff forgot to give us the second room keys
4. Amenities in room are non existent. Can’t make a cup or tea or coffee.
5. Rooms are tiny and basically finished.
In summary - End up paying a lot of money for 2 star experience

Well-located hotel, cozy, beautiful spaces on each floor facing a beautiful staircase that reflects the "grand hotel" spirit, very helpful staff, spacious (superior) room, high-quality breakfasts

Full of anticipation, my heart stops
This Grand Hotel may have been grand, but now it is mostly history. The location and size fit the name but the rest has yet to be fulfilled to meet contemporary standards.
The dinner we were allowed to enjoy with our large group (50!) was well catered for, chapeau! But the technical side of the hotel seemed to me suitable for a horror movie. The temperature in my room was close to 40°, the tap water was lukewarm, both the 'hot' and 'cold' tap, I wouldn't drink it or use it for the shower, a tap opens clockwise, the elevator operation requires routine, you get somewhere you don't want to be, everything is outdated but clean. Faded glory, I think.
I hope someone sees enough perspective to pay for a renovation, they deserve it.

At the same time, we are sorry that several aspects of the hotel left you disappointed.
Grand Hotel is a historic property dating back to 1897, and its architecture, room layouts, technical installations, and overall character naturally differ from those of a newly built hotel. Many guests choose us specifically because of this history and atmosphere. However, we fully agree that the age of a building should never prevent essential facilities from functioning properly or compromise cleanliness and guest comfort.
During the period of your stay, we experienced exceptionally high outdoor temperatures. As the building was not originally designed with air conditioning, the rooms can unfortunately become very warm during extreme summer weather. All rooms are equipped with fans, but we acknowledge that these were not sufficient under the unusually hot conditions, and we are very sorry that the temperature made your stay so uncomfortable.
Your comments regarding the water temperature are particularly concerning. Both hot and cold water should, of course, function correctly and safely. Had our reception or technical team been informed during your stay, we would have investigated the issue immediately and attempted to resolve it or offer an alternative solution. We will nevertheless follow up on your feedback, as this is not a condition we consider acceptable.
The hotel’s historic construction also means that taps, corridors, lifts, and different sections of the building may not always follow the uniform layout found in a modern purpose-built hotel. We understand that the elevator and the route through the property may initially feel confusing, particularly for first-time visitors, and our reception team is always available to provide directions and assistance.
We appreciate that, despite your criticism of the hotel’s condition, you found it clean. Cleanliness is a fundamental priority for us, and we are glad this was reflected in your experience.
We are continuously working to maintain and improve the hotel while respecting the historic framework of the building. We therefore appreciate your recognition of the property’s potential, even though we regret that the overall experience did not meet your expectations.
