Staff was very attentive to my and my family needs. Very polite and eager to help us. This hotel is located downtown near many restaurants, museums, and many historical sites.

We have been coming to Cuenca and staying at El Dorado Hotel since the hotel opened around 1970 when my wife and I were married. We have been coming back regularly on our trips to Ecuador and Cuenca since. Our last stay was in July 2026. The El Dorado has been a consistently comfortable and enjoyable stay. And you can’t beat its convenient location one block from the plaza and cathedral. We don’t even think about going to a different hotel when in Cuenca.
