Room needed spontaneously

Needed a hotel spontaneously in the evening. Booking went smoothly, reception was only open until 10:30 p.m., so check-in was done over the phone. The employee was very friendly and everything went well. €85 for a spontaneous night without breakfast is quite reasonable. Room was functional and clean. Check-out the next day also went smoothly.

Simple hotel

Not the first hotel in the square. Sufficient for an overnight stay when only one sleeping option, a shower and a simple breakfast is needed. Parking available. The exit is narrow. Value for money is reasonable.

Heating does not work

The rooms in the old wing are large and clean. The whole hotel is old and spoiled. You can overlook all this. What is not possible, however, is that the heating apparently does not work. At best, it only becomes lukewarm, even at demonstrably low temperatures outside. A heater that doesn't work is broken. So you freeze at night and the room is cold and clammy. Unfortunately, you only notice this with the heating in a hotel when you have booked and paid and stay there for one or two nights. However, according to my internet research, the problem of broken heating has existed for some time. So it hasn't been repaired or it's broken again. The question now is whether the hotel can still be operated with a broken or at least incorrectly adjusted heating system, because this poses a health hazard to the guests. I already warned the heating problem 2 weeks ago at the reception.

No check-in possible, but already paid money still won't be returned

Basically, I can't rate the hotel itself, because despite Check In times until midnight we were at 23:45 in front of closed doors. The phone number posted in the door for such cases was "unavailable at this time." So we stood in the middle of the night with 2 children in front of an already paid hotel that and does not let in. The worst is yet to come. For now 4 weeks I am trying to get my money back, which I have already paid through Booking.com, unfortunately misrepresentation. Booking.com refers to the hotel that doesn't give feedback (strange, because I paid to Booking.com) and the hotel doesn't respond to emails and on the phone you are directed to a headquarters that mysteriously is never reachable on any of my calls.
A lawyer is called in.

I was pleasantly surprised

Had some business in the area at short notice.
Asked about a room at 5 p.m. in the evening without registering.
Friendly reception. I thought €70 for a single room without breakfast was reasonable. The bathroom was small but new and the room, including the carpet and the TV, were OK. The room was on the second floor and quietly located near the parking lot. I wasn't expecting a 5-star hotel and didn't pay for one. Breakfast was offered for €10. Unfortunately, as I left early, I can't give a review, but I wouldn't have expected fresh scrambled eggs for the price. I pay a lot more for a good breakfast in other hotels.
I was satisfied and will be back
