Very good hotel for a group trip

I stayed with a tour group with 65 tour participants four days at the Hotel Empress Augusta.
Before the trip, I emailed the hotel the room occupancy list. I then made an instalment payment and after the trip came the final settlement. Everything went smoothly.
We were greeted very friendly at the hotel. The room distribution was also very fast.
On the first evening we booked a buffet dinner at the hotel. It was a very delicious meal with beef ragout and Thuringian dumplings, among others. It tasted very good and a staff member always stood at the buffet and filled up when something was empty.
We also had breakfast at the hotel. Again, there was always a staff member at the breakfast buffet and has immediately replenished. The buffet was good and the staff who brought the coffee and cleared the tables were very attentive and friendly. If there was less going on in the breakfast room they also stopped at the table and gave us some tips about the city.
The rooms were very clean. I have received nothing but praise and not a single complaint from my tour group.
The hotel is opposite Weimar Central Station. That is why many bus lines run here in the direction of the city centre. Those who prefer to walk are in the city center in less than 10 minutes.
Next to the hotel is a Lebanese restaurant, a little further an Italian and the loft cocktail bar where you can also eat well.
In short: I can recommend the hotel for group travel without restriction.

They don't clean

They don't clean. We stayed four days and they didn't come in at all. It's supposed to be sustainable. I fully understand that they do not wash the sheets or towels but not that they do not clean the bathroom! Luckily we were given a half liter bottle of water for two people as compensation

Only plus, the good location right at the train station

I had a single room which was small and functional. The bathroom was very small and had as heating a red light bulb on the ceiling. The room had no smoke detector. The staff at the reception and in the service area seemed unmotivated and sometimes unfriendly, almost annoyed by us guests. I was disappointed with the equipment of the rooms and the Service as the accommodation is relatively price intensive and therefore I feel the price-performance ratio is not justified.

Highly recommended.

Great location. Good value for money! Great breakfast buffet. We are very, very satisfied! Funny and very nice staff. The beds and rooms are very nice and clean. We can recommend it. The hotel is great.
