A Complete Disgrace! Stranded a Family and Refused to Refund Us!
I had actually stayed at this hotel once before. Back then, it felt quite neglected and poorly cleaned, but for the price, it was tolerable for a quick one-night stop.
This time, I was driving through Budapest with my family and our small, incredibly well-behaved Shiba Inu. I used Google to find a pet-friendly motel, saw this familiar hotel on the list, booked, and fully prepaid for our stay. What a massive mistake.
After a long, exhausting journey, we arrived only to be met with the most shocking and unacceptable treatment. The staff flat-out refused to check us in simply because of our dog. The most outrageous part is that despite the hotel showing up in pet-friendly searches and us having fully prepaid, they showed zero empathy.
I have never encountered hotel staff so arrogant, dismissive, and outright rude. Not only did they brazenly turn a tired family away late in the day, but they also completely refused to issue a refund. Leaving a family stranded on the streets of Budapest after a long drive while refusing to return our payment is, in my opinion, beyond despicable.
I categorically do not recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s poorly maintained, the staff is incredibly rude, and, in my opinion, their financial practices and treatment of guests are completely unacceptable. Avoid at all costs!
[UPDATE] Following this incident, I reached out to the hotel. Instead of a refund, compensation, or apologies—which would be the absolute standard for any normal hotel (honestly, even a sincere apology would have been enough)—I received an incredibly arrogant, insolent, and hostile message. Their response perfectly demonstrated the shocking level of aggression and absolute incompetence of the owners or management. They aggressively refused to return my payment for the unrendered service and claimed they "do not partner with Agoda" while literally sending their reply through the Agoda platform!
I categorically do not recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s poorly maintained, the management is unhinged and utterly incompetent, and, in my opinion, they operate in a completely unacceptable manner. Avoid at all costs!

Extremely disappointing experience. We did not receive the room we originally booked and were instead given an inferior room. When we finally got a room, there were several issues: there were cobwebs on the ceiling, the room was dirty, the pillows were extremely uncomfortable and there was no air conditioning despite it being explicitly stated in our booking confirmation.
Despite all of these issues, we were not offered any refund or compensation. This was completely unacceptable and far below what we expected. Overall, a terrible experience. Would not recommend.

We booked 2 nights. But next day we runaway because hotel does not have heating in November, outside temp. was - 2. Man on reception was sitting in jacket. They did not return our money for next night they just sad sorry

Hotel located in a beautiful setting.
We stayed at this hotel from 22 to 26 September. It is located in the Buda district, preferable to have a car. The staff is friendly. Our room was accessible only by an external staircase. The room was great, cleanliness leaves much to be desired, dust accumulations and old hair behind the bedside tables. The beds uncomfortable not to mention the pillows .. The bathroom small, old and poorly cleaned. Breakfast was poor quality, old bread. Would never stay there again

Stayed for 5 nights, except for the 5th night when the hotel gave our room away and we were thrown out with nowhere to stay.
"Sorry - mistake in the booking"!
Awful stay, room not cleaned every day, had to ask for everything - cups, water glasses, toilet paper, and fresh pillow cases (never came).
No tea/coffee facilities in the room apart from the 'fridge' which seemed to contain a strange growth and ice ball.
Put in the annex located on the local rat run road and speed bump - very noisy and flooded with street lights despite the pathetic curtains.
No food available except for the buffet breakfast which at €10 didn't look worth a try.
We borrowed a travel kettle to make coffee - that was 'taken' and only returned when my partner demanded.
Budapest is a lovely city and doesn't need this sort of 'hotel'.
