Never again

The place is gloomy, the rooms are dark and do not smell super nice... There is no key or electronic card to enter the room, so sometimes the manager comes home as if nothing had happened, I do not even know to do what.
There was marked room for 4 when I booked but I ended up in a room for 6. There is also mould on the shower/toilet door (because yes, it is one and the same small room).
I do not recommend...

Agreed on previous reviews, the place has a feeling not a hostel for international travellers but for local long stayers, working class people. Stay here on your own risk, it's often fully booked due to an extremely low price but as a downside you'll get a bunch of loud ladies cooking their evening meals and socialising well into the night. A fully equipped kitchen is one a few bright spots though. There are lockers but they can't be locked unless you bring your own small padlock. Overall they are nice people but just not the type one expects in such a place.

Lmao

The lady that was sleeping next to me was very surprised I lasted two nights in there, I think that my boyfriend is going to break up with me because I brought him there. Jokes, maybe he still loves me. No, just not a hostel for young “drinking all night” uni students 20 € bistro bar we are fun interrail people.

The worst accommodation we have found ever

My friends and I went to Budapest for Sziget. Unfortunately we had booked to stay here for our trip, which was 10 days. We stayed 1 night and had to leave. This place may be a budget hostel but you don’t even get that.
The place does have a cleaner, but it is dirty overall. It feels unsafe to be in.
The staff aren’t helpful, we were refused any of our money back even though we had one stayed for one night.
Budapest overall is beautiful but this encounter put a massive dampener on our holiday.
Please do more research than we did, because this isn’t acceptable.

STAY IF YOU WANT TO PUT YOURSELF IN DANGER.

The entire hostel is horrible, it was an actual nightmare. We booked the hostel about a month before arriving, we had low expectations due to the price but what we got was literally one of the most traumatic night of my life. When we arrived, the hallways were tight and the other people in the hostel seemed to be locals, aged above 30 at least. The moment we entered the room, it smelled like sewage. The foul smell did not go away for the whole time. We told ourselves to give it a night so we dropped our bags and headed out. The doors were left opened so anyone could come in and there was no safety features apart from a flimsy locker. The toilet were mouldy and so dirty, with holes in the ceiling. By the time I wanted to stay somewhere else, it was too late and we had to stay for a night. There was no ventilation in the room and the smell got worse as the night went on. I honestly thought I would suffocate in the room. It was terrible. From the moment we entered until we left. When morning came, we packed our bags and left instantly.
