The most authentic and amazing safari experience

This was one of the best trips of my life. Saruni took care of everything so we didn’t need a travel agent for the safari. They even helped us get through the international airport. The safari itself is probably the best one around. The people are spectacular, Raydon the manager was so helpful, our guide Solomon was excellent and we saw every animal you could imagine multiple times. Lions, cheetas, and leopards with their kill (a gruesome sight), giraffes gracefully walking close to us, elephants and smelly hippos. The camp site is one of a kind, at night we could hear lions, hyenas, and herd animals near our tents (the “tents” were luxurious). The food was excellent and the staff were so kind and hospitable. I will never forget this place and we were all sad the leave. The kids said it was the most amazing experience they had ever had. What also makes this place special is that it is in the conservancy so there is a high concentration of animals and not so many tourists. In the mara national park there are so many more tourists. We will be back again next year.

Honeymoon, First Safari Experience, blown away!

We spent our first days of our honeymoon, and first experience in Africa at Basecamp wilderness, and we truly had no clue what to expect. The staff blew us away, the camp is beautiful, and the food was fantastic. The experience felt so authentic, and the Masai employees are so open and willing to share their culture. Our waitress Rantes was so sweet and kind and our guide Stillion felt like a good friend by the time we left. He was so knowledgeable, considerate of our interests during the game drives, and did a great job educating us on the Masai way of life, the animals, and the conservancy in general. If you want a Safari lodge that is safe, has fresh delicious food, and a staff that is literally from the place you’re staying, this place is a no-brainer. Thank you so much BaseCamp Wilderness, we will be back!

A safari of a lifetime

I had the pleasure to stay at Saruni Basecamp Wilderness in June 2026 for a solo safari focusing on wildlife photography. The booking process was seamless. The team was amazing at guiding me and answering any questions I had in a timely fashion. From the moment they picked me up at the airport to the drop off , I have experience nothing short of 5 stars service and hospitality. The camp itself is located in the heart of Naboisho, in my opinion, the prime location for a photographic safari in Kenya. I opted for a private vehicle but even if I shared it, I am sure that the experience would have been memorable. The tent was very comfortable with everything you need. The bedding was very comfortable. The food delicious and the entire staff is very personable, attentive and anticipate your needs... My guide, Kampala is simple amazing. I swear he must have super powers. He asked me what I wanted to see and delivered every SINGLE time! Lions chasing cheetahs on day one, not one but two leopards on day 2 and 3, male lions at sunrise? No problem. Lions eating a kill? Sure. His efforts in making sure I took all the photos I wanted to take were unmatched. I honestly fee that after this, it is going to be hard to find a better guide for a safari and everything will feel. a bit underwhelming. Wether you want to experience Kenya at its best, enjoy a family safari or focus on photography and traveling solo, this is the place to me.. I hope to return someday. and to the entire team, thank you so much for a trip I will remember my entire life.

Safari Basecamp Wilderness

Life at home will never be the same again. We have never been so influenced by a trip and met so many fine people in one place. The service is unbeatable and you feel like one of the family right away. The food is great and the tents are clean, cozy and the view is magical. The safari tours are unbeatable, we saw sooooo much animals and the guides really do everything and then some to make your experience as good as possible. We did a Walking Safari and it was so educational, highly recommended!
We will come back! Special thanks to Manfred, James, Benson and to team Basecamp Wilderness. You are Love from Beata and Richard, see you soon again!

A wonderful holiday at base camp wilderness

We could not have enjoyed our holiday at Base Camp Wilderness more. It was fascinating to learn about the Naboisho conservancy and amazing to see the animals, visit a village, eat dinner under the stars, have breakfast in the bush however it was the people who shared all this with us that made it so special. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. A special mention to MK and Rantes for everything they did for us.
