Discovering a gem on the Baltic coast

This was my first time in Palanga (2-hour direct flight from Stansted) and it couldn't have been better. Vila Ramybe is a wonderful place to stay because it is attractive, clean, the restaurant is excellent, everyone is really friendly, and the location suited me perfectly. It was easy to walk to the central area, the fantastic beach (yes I swam in the Baltic), and there was also an orchestra playing in the local park (with the Amber Museum) in the evening. Just for a change I ate out in a local Mexican restaurant one night (Locales Bodega) and that was great too. The weirdest thing is that I didn't see a single person of ethnic origin all week, it's not multicultural in that sense, the opposite of London and just 'white', but I loved my unusual holiday. Thank you Palanga! Thank you Vila Ramybe!

Nice hotel but overpriced hotel with good food and poor service

A nice nice nice room in an optimal location to amber museum, park, beach and shops. One room went to the street and was okay. The other room cost €50 more per night for well-equipped kitchenette, terrace and private access via the garden. A few pots, a trash can, a sink and a small hotplate with a lot of cable tangle and little space was the extra equipment compared to the other room. The terrace is nearby and public. The windowless toilet has a very weak exhaust air. The bathroom is extremely small and the bath rim as a shower entry over knee high. The extremely soft mattress was not replaced. The room was not cleaned. There is no blackout and no air conditioning. Wardrobe and luggage rack are missing. No WiFi data or info about breakfast times in the room. The patio furniture is not placed and not cleaned. In the restaurant we had 2 different menus with more and less dishes. The food was very good. Breakfast we had to order from the menu, for drinks there was no menu. 1 single cup of a drink and 1 dish, e.g. pancakes or eggs was included. Neither butter, nor jam, sausage, cheese fruit, yogurt or juice was offered. As soon as the last bite was in the mouth, the plate was pulled away. Nobody asked if we wanted coffee or anything else. The ordered orange juice was put in the bottle and the chunky drinking glass with it, there's no table decoration at all. Bed linen and toilet paper are mentioned separately as included in both rooms. The quiet garden has a children's playground with loudly creaking swings. For 140 € per night we are used to better.

A lovely and very cosy short stay-house!

The woman at the desk was accommodating, she showed us to the room, although be prepared to climb stairs!
The room was good for two people, even with a sofa in, as well as wide windows for ventilation during the summer months, and the breakfast was good in the morning (although there wasn't much choice) - an overall nice stay!

Nice guest house with bar and restraunt

Had been travelling for 30 hours and room was on ground floor overlooking veranda.I had to go to bed at 2030. The hotel had cordoned off the veranda area immediately outside the rooms but a group of customers children found this a great place to play and were very noisy.Maybe not the hotels fault but this made the room very noisy and being a wooden building the upstairs room was banging around on the floors until the early hours.
Staff were very informative and restaurant food was really good just the noise was too much and would probably be different on another day.

Incredible owner of the restaurant

You must meet this owner of the restaurant, he will always make you smile and you will be treated like a lady/gentleman :)
If you need an advice what food to order - potatoe pancakes ;) they are different in the best way they can be :)
