Family of 4 fell in love with this secluded beach.
Wow! Be mentally prepared for a break from stimulation! We fell in love with this place. Stayed 4 nights which was perfect for a family with teens. Be prepared for $50 cnd cab ride one way to beach town.
Food is unmatched! All cabins are great views etc. no bad choice of room.
Take hikes off into the hills and other beaches.
Drinks are not included but fresh juice all day is free and delicious! Love that there are places like this on the planet without the noise of commercialism.

Birthday celebration at Punta Monterrey
Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Punta Monterrey for making a special birthday even more meaningful.
We love the respectful eco-design of the property, nestled in the jungle where it joins the pristine sea.
Thanks to Ana for the warm welcome and for arranging the incredible massages in the open air palapa on our tirst day.
The kitchen staff provided three lovely meals for us each day with a smile and attention, the cafe and bar staff made delicious drinks and the manager went above and beyond to provide a special birthday dinner complete with gorgeous cake to enjoy. Thanks for the conversations Alvaro!
So interesting to know the history of the area, and your family's excellent stewardship of this sanctuary.

Zero maintenance!!! no use air conditioning do not go in hot weather
The road to get there is very difficult to travel and dangerous for any car, the van that brought us, will no longer come back for us, canceled our Service,
The people attending are very friendly and the beach very nice, clean and crystal clear.
Food, though it's like
be at home because you don't know what you'll eat and you're given nothing but a good option in general (dinners were spectacular!)
But we got sick to the stomach with the ceviches
Now the reality:
We were handed a room (the 13th) where the air conditioning is not used we Czech other rooms (we came a large group and had for us about 6 rooms), and although many complained about the air conditioning ours was the worst, supposedly 16 degrees and with the maximum power, hardly air, and not cold, we were politely warning not less than 4 times and Martin (although very friendly), gave us atole with his finger, never repaired it or changed rooms (I sense that he did not have that power or knowledge of any room available♀�)... but the next day he himself to my neighbor (who knew the owner and talked to him) went to offer him another room to change!!
The fridge does not cool or slow to do so, it looks old and rusty (like the air conditioning), dirty sheets (annex photo) I understand that it is eco-friendly but it is not father to reach your room and that in your pillows there is mouse poop (I guess because my sister-in-law saw one in her room) and kissing, very careless inside and out, zero maintenance, some connectors do not work, the toilet broke down, leaks inside my room there is nothing to eat between meals (carry your snack, and / or sweet bread that do not offer you a dessert either) at breakfast there is nothing but coffee... if you want juice or chocomilk you have to go personally to buy it at the bar, broken mosquito nets, so it was also not option to turn off the air and leave windows open
There is no comfortable space in the whole hotel to seclude or isolate yourself!!!, it could be your room (if air conditioning served)
No internet, no phone signal only in the dining room and only loads whatsapp (out there if you can call)
No tv in case you like
I really think with more attention and maintenance and getting a lot of money into it and taking guests' opinions into account, it could be a really good place.
I don't know how much they paid for us (they invited us), but I think cheap wasn't and isn't worth it

Loved it here!
THIS PLACE is Heaven on Earth. Paradise. I went with a group of 5, 4 adults and a toddler. The entire place is gorgeous. It is a bit rustic but we are beach people and totally loved it. Only 3 to 4 groups on the beach, usually 2-5 people in a group. They have kayaks, a beach volleyball spot and plenty of chairs. It is truly beautiful.
I am gluten free due to Celiac and they were very attentive to this with the meals. Meals are served to all, the same meal. If you are a picky eater you may have issues but I am sure they would accomodate. A bar is onsite also.
We truly loved it and did not want to leave.

Magical !!!
The best way to connect with the Beauty of Nature and get away from the “turbulent world”. The cleanliness of the room, the kindness and courtesy of the staff, the delicious meals…all this contribute to a memorable stay ! Huge shout out to Ana, Cristobal, Alvaro and Salvador !!!
