Largely recommended

This was a great place to stay. We spent 3 nights in this B&B and everything was perfect. The room was quite big and confortable, with a nice view on the countryside.
Breakfast was good and aboundant.
Edam is a nice small town, seems like a small Amsterdam, with everything you need to relax and enjoy nature. However, it is only 20km from the city center of Amsterdam, thus you can plan to have active life during the day and relax in the evening and night.

We liked this place we came back 3 nights later

We liked this place so much that we came back 3 nights later. Arriving in Edam by Macbike touring bike, and avoiding the tourist chaos of Voldadam, we were met by Kees (as in suit case), the joint owner of this top value B and B. It had just 3 rooms for hiring out, as it is the owners home, which he had converted to B and B. This place is spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished, with a very modern share bathroom. Our second floor room was a good size, bright and airy, with a view overlooking the grassy polder, with wild ducks and swans, and trees. The setting was most picturesque. cooked breakfast served in the downstairs dining room, was large and varied. Very good value. From Queensland blue.

Nice but noisy rooms

We booked two nights for 6 persons and got two rooms on the 2nd floor, one with 5 beds and an other one with 2 beds, and one bathroom to share between the two rooms.
Good :
- The room are spacious, bedding is fine, everything is really clean. The view on the countryside is lovely
- Owners are really kind, Kees answered all our questions during breakfast, explained us how to go to Amsterdam from Edam, offered us to post our postcards, ... ! Kees speaks French and English (plus a few other languages), which can be helpful.
- Location: just near Edam, which is lovely to go around. A little bit far from Amsterdam anyway, but there is some park and ride parking lot not so far away where you can leave your car for the day and just take the tramway to go to the city center. So it is fine.
Bad :
- The rooms are really noisy. There was people in the rooms on the 1st floor and we could ear them all night long laughing from our own room. There was also very strong smoke odors, which was really annoying.
- The breakfast is fulfilling but just ok : plain eggs, biscuits... With a pinch of sophistication, it would be perfect !

spacious clean room but can hear everything from next door:(

The room was very clean and spacious with lovely view. It was peaceful till the family next door came back. We shared bathroom which was a bit difficult at times and they had to leave early so it was really noisy from 5 onwards and after that i was too tired to enjoy breakfast(it was nice simple breakfast but guests get served at different times so if you are in a hurry book it in advance.
The b&b is a bit of walk from the town centre but edam is a lovely place so we didn't mind at all.
Overall, nice place to stay but it is a bit of luck to have polite and quiet guest next-door.
Oh, they do not accept credit card so be ready for it (hard to find a cash-machine, i think there is one in the centre though)

Great one!

I went on a trip to Waterland and decided to stay in this bed and breakfast hotel for one night. I absolutely regretted not booking for more than one night. If you want to relax, see beautiful landscapes and eat good cheese, don't miss it!
The recepcionist was so kind! Even he offered to give us a lift to Amsterdam (he had to go there) the day we came back. Excellent!!!
