Very nice hotel, old style. Good rooms. Decent price. Really kind of cozy. Very nice staff and service.
Super location. About 3 minutes walk from Larcomar. Beds were good for a comfortable sleep.

Shabby, Run Down But Great Location

The location in MiraFlores is exellent, but the hotel itself is dirty and run down. We made a reservation on line, only to be told when we arrived at the front desk that the hotel does not take reservations on line. The front desk did not volunteer that they still had rooms, and we were forced to ask if they had a room available notwithstanding their not honoring our reservation. They gave us a room. The carpets and walls in the hotel corridors are dirty, the hot water was intermittant, and when we turned the handle to turn on the shower, the handle fell off. There was loud construction going on in the room next to ours during the day. We were told that there was no longer breakfast included in the rate contrary to what was advertised. No one was in the restaurant the entire time we were there -- probably for good reason. On the plus side, we had a late day airport departure and they let us pay 40 soles to keep the room past the 11 am check out until 8 pm so we did not have to check out and store our luggage somewhere. With this place, its important to have very low expectations, but the location is very good.

General hotel conditions

I had made a Reservation for EXPEDIA. He had the Reservation and payment proof.
They said they didn't work with EXPEDIA anymore and they didn't even want to hear us. The nasty receptionist. Besides not paying attention, she didn't even look at my face.
They just didn't even let me and my dad stay. A total failure. Zero empathy. It was awful.

Hotel in decay

The bathroom in the room had a permanent smell of urine that was never corrected in the cleaning, the air conditioning did not work, there was no replacement of soaps or toilet paper unless we requested it, the carpet in the room was dirty, they did not vacuum it.
Breakfast time was really depressing, food was placed only when you went down to the dining room but it was practically competing for food with other guests due to the pettiness and control of the kitchen, you had to go into the kitchen to request food because there was no food in it. the buffet, the coffee was cold and they told us to heat it in the microwave!!!, one morning there was not even coffee, they only put tea, for my daughters I asked about cereal and yogurt and the cook just told me "I don't have any brother". Our last day in Peru deserved a dignified farewell, so we opted to have breakfast outside the hotel.
The worst thing is that they charge the entire stay in advance and there is no escape.
The only redeemable thing is Mr. Bronson who cared about us, he was very kind, attentive and, in our opinion, he should be the head of service and many things would improve.
We will never return to this hotel, good luck to whoever chooses it.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!

Very bad experience! We chose this hotel in Miraflores to enjoy the tranquility and silence, also in an expensive suite, and upon returning at night we found a party with loud music, people shouting and laughing until nightfall. Nobody told us about this party, which didn't let us sleep. The worst thing is that when we wrote to the owner he was rude, he didn't answer us. When we complained at the front desk the next day asking for a refund, the young woman called the owner who refused to grant our request. They both even laughed at our complaint.
Furthermore, the breakfast was so poor and disappointing that the owners should be ashamed. It would be better not to use it. It doesn't even come close to the misleading photos posted on the site and in search engines, based on which we made our choice. The only good thing about this hotel is the turtles!
