PERFECT STAY, SUPER CLEAN, BEST POSITION EVER!

Into the barrio Gotico, 5 minuts far from the metro and la Rambla. Never seen such a good position for a so good price! The place is perfectly clean and the staff is amazing, we were pleasantly surprised of how caring they are: they even left two bottles of water and some candys on the bed, they clean the rooms every day, change the towels (not so easy to find in hostels!). it was so nice to came back from a long day and found the bed made and the room tidy! The rooms are small but really cozy and warm, there's a family atmosphere around and a nice common living room. Never seen bathroom so clean (at every hour of the day) in an hostel! Thanks for the perfect stay!

I would not recommend ANYONE stay here during summer

4 flights of steep stairs to walk up to when you arrive, the rooms are unbearably hot seeing as there’s no air con and you can’t even open the windows because there’s club music playing outside till gone 7:30am. The worst sleep of my life at this hostel. There’s not even enough room for more than one person to stand up in the room at one time. Lots of people who were staying the same time as me left early during my stay. I left on the last day and paid the exact same price for a much nicer, bigger hotel with an air con and private bathroom only a 5 minute walk away (El Canton)

Small room, beware of noise

Pros:
As a hostal, this is good since it offers individual rooms. For a small room, it's well organized. Looks modern. Has hangers and a small closet. Located in a good spot. Has many restaurants in under 3 minutes of waking. Priced lower than hotels. Staff keeps cupcakes for breakfast. And rooms are cleaned daily. Helpful staff can get taxi ordered for early mornings.
Cons:
Super Small room.
Super small shower.
It's in the third floor on narrow staircase, carrying luggage is hard without an elevator.
No sound barrier, very easy to hear everyone else. This was the biggest pet peeve for me. Couldn't talk on phone so as not to disturb neighbours. For sound reasons, hard to go take shower between 11 pm - 6 am. I was feeling guilty just walking or opening the door past midnight. This is my biggest issue with the place.
You have to tell in advance what time you will reach to the staff can be sure they are not away at your time of arrival.
Disclaimer:
I came with low expectation of a super cheat hotel (like motels in US), this was under it. But if I had more experience with hostels, this might have been okey.

Worse place to stay, good location

Terrible noisy rooms, if you want a cheap option is just not right for €80 a night. My husband likes everything but even him couldn’t put with this. Rooms are like a box (cages). Unfriendly staff too.

Comfortable and great value - recommend

We booked direct a double room with private bathroom. After 10 days travelling I thought it was great: the room had a heater in the room (not such a common thing in Spain), bed was comfortable, nice white sheets, bathroom all fine, had toiletries and lots of towels (shower needs pressure, but it had hot water, so cannot fault it). Location was great in the gothic quarter. Staff were helpful and friendly. Kitchen was available for tea and coffee (in the last place we stayed I had to ask staff for coffee in all inclusive breakfast!!!). All in all, please do not get me wrong, it is a basic hotel, but it had all comforts needed and I would book again.

Excellent location
