Commencing operations in 2010, privately owned Nile Air is an airline in Cairo, Egypt. Its headquarters is adjacent to the Terminal 1 of Cairo International Airport. It initially operated a short-term wet lease contract with Libyan Arab Airlines before starting scheduled services from Egypt in March 2011. Its main hub is in Cairo while its secondary hub is in Alexandria - Borg El Arab, and serves its focus cities, Yanbu, Qassim, and Jeddah. Currently, it has a fleet of two aircraft with an average age of 6.6 years: Airbus A320-232 (leased from Aercap) and Airbus A321-200.

The airline received its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority in November 2009, a permission to launch operations, which officially began in August 2010. Nile Air became the first private Egyptian airline to publish its schedule and flight availability (including its scheduled services to Iraq) on the Global Distribution System (GDS) in January 2011. Two months later, it launched its first scheduled services to Saudi Arabia. The airline’s company slogan is ‘Truly yours.’

As of December 2013, the airline offers scheduled flights to several destinations within Egypt, and to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. There are plans for future expansion which will include Europe and Middle East. In Egypt, Nile Air flies to and from Cairo (Cairo International Airport) and Alexandria (Borg El Arab Airport). In Kuwait, it only serves Kuwait International Airport. In Saudi Arabia, it flies to and from Yanbu, Qassim, Ta'if (Ta’if Regional Airport), Tabuk (Tabuk Regional Airport), and Jeddah.
