Excellent stay at the Balkan Palace. Very clean. The staff was helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable and polite.

Disappointed

We arrived at the hotel today, the room was only ready at four and a half instead of three, the floor was not clean and the room was nothing.

It is a 3 star hotel. Furniture throughout was thift store quality. 30 years ago probably a great hotel. Run down Restaurant lol. 20 tables. Half had dirty plates glasses. No bus boy. 1 waiter.
Food overpriced for Bulgaria average food. Great location!

I like the hotel’s imposing presence from the outside and its great location. However, I was really disappointed and disgusted by the terrible condition of the carpet. Visible stains, dirty, filthy. My room was ok but it never got housekeeping service during my stay until I complained about it the day before leaving. I even had to
ask for complimentary bottles of water. There was no card to hang on the door knob to request cleaning. So disappointed. The staff was ok. This hotel would not be of my choice if I return again to Sofia. Thanks.

Beautiful hotel and great location. The gym was pathetic though and the housecleaning staff would either knock on the door at 9am and one morning 10. I asked them to come back at 11 and they never cleaned the room until repeatedly asking both them and the front desk. The room was finally cleaned around 4:15 in the afternoon. I would have expected more from this hotel.
