Nice stay
Room size is amazing, clean, bathroom size is fine.
Breakfast was tasty with many varieties.
Staff are so helpful.
Location is quite, 15 min walk from city center shopping area.

Beer garden not recommended at all!
Our visit to the Parkhotel Herne beer garden today was unfortunately a big disappointment.
Upon arrival, we were turned away quite rudely in the parking lot, as it was apparently assumed across the board that we wanted to use the parking lot for a nearby soccer game. I was traveling with my 88-year-old mother and we only wanted to visit the restaurant. It would have been nice if they had asked us first instead of immediately assuming a misuse of the parking lot.
When we finally had a seat, we had to realize that on a sunny Sunday afternoon around 4 p.m., not a single piece of cake was left available. That can happen, but it does not leave a good impression for a park hotel.
Unfortunately, the negative impression continued with the service. The service staff seemed annoyed and unfriendly from the start. After we had eaten our ice cream, we asked for the bill. After about 30 minutes of waiting, we asked again. When still no one came afterward, I went to the counter myself to be able to pay. There, I was snapped at by the same waitress with the remark that some guests seemed to be in a particular hurry today.
A guest who simply wants to pay after more than half an hour should not be met with such a remark. Friendliness and professional conduct are part of good service for me – especially when it is very busy.
It is a shame, because the location of the beer garden in the city park is really beautiful. Due to the unfriendly treatment and the overall disappointing service, however, we will not return.

Good standard hotel in the Ruhr area
The hotel may look a few years, but has already been renovated in many places. The room was large and well equipped, the bathroom rather small and not 100% clean. 1 bottle of water in the room for free. Wi-Fi good.
Breakfast was rich, fresh and delicious. The restaurant was unfortunately closed in the evening.
Friendly staff, value for money OK. For a stay in the area Herne, Recklinghausen, etc. certainly a good choice.

Great house
The rooms are very clean, the breakfast good and the staff very nice.
I'd love to come back.
A star deduction is available for the mattress, which was too uncomfortable for me. But everyone feels differently and I am already looking forward to the next visit.
