A convent to rest like kings

The main entrance of the Pador is located in a maze of pedestrian streets, so if you arrive by car, you must go directly to the entrance of the parking lot, located at 58 Almendralejo Street. They open the gate and through the ramp, you access directly to the ramp of the underground parking. They charge €24 per day, which seems to us to be a somewhat high price. We found the facilities magnificent, both the room and the bathroom were very well maintained, and the common areas were frankly comfortable, despite the old furniture. At the reception, they were waiting for us and offered a very quick and comfortable check-in. All the staff, very young, were very kind to us. Being an old convent, the hallways leading to our room, the last one of all, seemed endless and complicated, but we also found it charming. The location is unbeatable, just a step away from all the Roman monuments.

Too outdated.

On the positive side, we would include the treatment from the employees, the dinner, and the location.
And on the negative side, the bathrooms need a renovation. Moving around the parador is chaotic at times since it is very labyrinthine, and above all, I wonder what the parador's fire safety plan must be like, since unlike other hotels, I did not find any map or indication of where to exit the rooms in case of an alarm; even the exit signs were unlit, very small, and in some cases, hard to see.
And finally, the price of the parking seems like a real rip-off compared to other hotels.

It needs a small renovation.

The parador needs a renovation in some areas. The room they gave us (superior double) was huge. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom is very old, but that's a matter of taste. It is clean. The parking lot is small and the spaces are too (24€ a night). Prices are somewhat high for breakfast (20€ per person). The pool, well, the same... it needs a little makeover... the location is very good for walking to the center and monuments like the amphitheater.

It was difficult to find the entrance and the room.

On the way to the Parador de Cadiz, we spent the night in Merida. The entrance to the Parador is very complicated to find and the hallways are endless and in many cases lack signs. The room was very spacious, it is fine although it needs renovation especially in the floor and in the bathroom; a shower is missed, the bathtub is very high and uncomfortable. The bar restrooms, already renovated, are a marvel. At breakfast, at 9 in the morning, they were completely overwhelmed, I think due to a lack of staff. They provided us with complimentary water in the room, a bottle and a glass. There were 2 of us. Here I would have understood the figure of the person who accompanies you to the room with the luggage, it is difficult to find one.

Pleasant stay at an historic building and very good value for money.

Perfect location right in the centre, it has a very nice cloister where aperitifs are served. Room was big, spacious and clean, with a nice open view; a long way to reach it through long corridors.
A swimming pool in a slightly odd place with no much sun and not too close to the sun-beds, but nice to be able to refresh at the end of the day. Very good value for money. Staff very helpful
