A floating pizzeria, Cloud9, Fiji
This two-floor floating deck has its own wood fired pizza oven, so you can enjoy a slice overlooking the blue, Polynesian sea, on a day bed or on a floatie. Just make sure not to drop your pizza in the ocean.
Address: You’ll need to board a boat in Port Denerau. They have transfers that depart everyday from the Port at 9am. You can also take your own private boat to Cloud9, but the restaurant only has capacity for 100.

A restaurant in a cave, Grotta Palazzese, Italy
This is a restaurant set in a cliff face, overlooking the Adriatic. It tops the list for the most romantic setting to dine, but it might have the best food and wine too – get a serious taste of the ocean with their raw seafood tasting platter, tagliatelle with sea urchin, or tuna tataki with frozen vegetables. The restaurant is actually part of a hotel, which you can book a few nights in for extra brownie points.
Address: Via Narciso, 59, 70044 Polignano A Mare BA, Italy. Book a night in the hotel here.

Dinner in the Sky, Brussels
In 2006, a flying table took to the skies in Brussels. Since then, the experience has been replicated in Australia, Dubai, Mexico, Malaysia, Greece, Brazil, the US, South Africa and India (to name a few). Guests are seated in roller-coaster-harnessed chairs, and elevated into the sky around a singular dining table. The foods parallels the views, with chefs like Heston Blumenthal and Dani Garcia cooking up a storm at 160 feet in the air.
Address: Read more about the concept online, and to see which restaurant you’d like to fly to.

The restaurant made of ice, Snow Hotel, Finland
It’s not just the 360 degree views of the northern lights in the igloo rooms that keep the guests happy here, it’s the delicious food served in an igloo made entirely of ice. The cloudberry liquor, salmon and Elk are all Finnish specialities you should try whilst you have the chance. Check out the rooms in the Snow Hotel with Skyscanner.

Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, Maldives

A380 Restaurant, Taipei
It might be quite rare to enjoy plane food, but the chefs at the A380 restaurant have turned it into a delicacy. You can still expect the experience: plastic trays, a bread and butter roll, no smoking signs, airplane seats and seat belts, but expect much better food.
Address: 168, Dingzhou Rd Sec 3, Taipei City. The nearest tram stop is Gongguan.
The Lock Up, Tokyo
People queue for solitary confinement served with soy sauce and spice in this gloomy establishment. The entire restaurant is themed in a ‘prison style’, with each guest becoming an inmate, taken hostage inside their own cell. Food is served through a hatch, and fortunately you’re also permitted to use knives and forks. There’s an experimental test tube cocktail menu and a number of sushi dishes – much less scary than a real prison.
Address: Japan, 〒150-0042 Tokyo, Shibuya, Udagawacho, 41−26, 33-F.I.O
