Arriving in Athens
Athens International Airport (ATH) has 2 terminals. The Main Terminal handles all flights to and from destinations in the Schengen Area, as well as some non-Schengen flights. Other flights arrive at the smaller Satellite Terminal. Both terminals have arrivals and departures on separate levels.
The airport has a wide selection of facilities if you need to get cash, a bite to eat or make purchases after your flight, as well as a hotel right outside the terminal. If you're staying in the city, you can travel by rail on Metro Line 3 (€10), by Osy bus (€6) or taxi (€35 by day, €50 at night).
Useful tips about Athens
If you're visiting between November and March, many tourist sites including the Acropolis offer free admission on the first Sunday of the month. Just be prepared for the crowds.
