Finding flights from Brisbane (BNE)

With more than three dozen airlines offering flights from Brisbane Airport, it can be hard to pick where you want to fly.

Simplify your choices by using Skyscanner's search panel. Not only can you easily sort destination countries by price, you can also choose to see prices laid out by the cheapest months or days.

If you've decided on a time to fly but not a destination, simply put 'everywhere' in the 'to' field. You'll be shown all the direct flights that are available (and non-direct, if you want more choices), listed by the cheapest price for the dates you've selected.

Alternatively, you may already have a destination in mind and simply want to know the cheapest time to fly. In this case, select 'cheapest month' for the dates you want to fly, and you'll see which dates have the lowest fares.

Brisbane Airport

Brisbane Airport is the third busiest airport in Australia, behind Sydney Kingsford Smith and Melbourne Tullamarine. It has two terminals, splitting up domestic and international flights.

Many of the domestic routes – offered by the likes of Alliance Airlines and Jet Go – are used mainly by people travelling for work, but the international flights are primarily used by those travelling for leisure.

Brisbane Airport is a hub for Virgin Australia and is also used extensively by Jetstar, Qantas and Tigerair.

You can use trains, buses or taxis to get to the airport from the CBD. The bus is the cheapest option, costing AU$4, while taxis are most expensive at around AU$35.

Popular destinations from Brisbane Airport

Although Sydney and Melbourne are busier routes in terms of passenger numbers, flights to Cairns are the fastest growing year-on-year. The obvious draw to the northern city is the Great Barrier Reef, one of Australia's iconic attractions. Cairns is also a gateway to Port Douglas and the Daintree rainforest.

Flights to Denpasar are also growing rapidly in popularity from Brisbane, with Bali being one of Australia's favourite getaways. Visitors have a range of options once they land – Kuta for parties, Ubud for spiritual retreats or Lovina Beach for snorkelling and dolphin spotting.

Farther afield, flights from Brisbane to Dubai are also seeing an increase, thanks in part to Emirates and Etihad offering this route. Dubai is a shopper's paradise, home to some of the world's biggest and grandest shopping centres. There's also the Palm Islands, the Burj Khalifa and Jumeirah Beach to check out.
