 Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

Airport Paris Charles de Gaulle, named after the former French president, is the busiest airport in France and is found 25km northeast of the capital.

CDG is divided into three areas, with a free shuttle train connecting the trio of terminals:

Terminal 1 is the oldest of the three, and serves Star Alliance airlines.

Terminal 2 is the largest of the terminals, and is further subdivided into Terminals 2A-2G. Most of these are within short walking distance of one another, but 2G is a 15-minute shuttle ride away. This terminal was originally built for Air France flights, but has since expanded to accommodate other airlines.

Terminal 3 oversees the arrivals and departures of low-cost carriers.

The RER train line "B" connects the airport with the city of Paris. The departure point is at Terminal 3, which can be reached from the other terminals by a free shuttle service. Adult tickets cost €10 for a one-way journey and getting to Paris Gare du Nord should take 45 minutes. Railway officials regularly roam the trains checking that passengers have a valid ticket.

Buses hide

A direct Roissybus service operates from all three terminals, taking passengers directly to the central area around Opéra Garnier for €11.50. This trip can take anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on traffic congestion.

Another option is to take Le Bus Direct. This service offers a choice of two routes and costs €17.

Local buses also service the airport. Routes 350 (to Gare du Nord) and 351 (to Place de la Nation) offer cheaper services, but they have multiple stops along the way. Tickets can be bought from the driver for €6 or you can get a slight discount from news stands inside the airport (passengers require three Tickets t+, which should cost €5.70 or around €4 if bought as a set of ten).

For those going to to Disneyland, the Magical Shuttle takes you directly to the park. Tickets cost €20 for adults or €17 for children and are free for infants aged three or younger. These shuttles depart from Terminal 2F.

Taxi hide

Taxis are available outside each of the terminals. These vehicles are all metered and should cost between €50 and €60 during the day, although there is a 15% surcharge between 7pm and 7am. The drive to Paris takes between half an hour and an hour.
