Air France Flights

Headquartered in Tremblay-en-France, north of Paris, Air France is the flag carrier of France and a subsidiary of Air France-KLM Group. As of the year 2013, the airlines flies to 36 domestic destinations and operates worldwide scheduled passenger and cargo services to 168 destinations in 93 countries. In 2011, Air France has carried 59,513,000 passengers.

Air France’s global hub is at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, but it also has secondary hubs at Paris Orly Airport, Lyon-Saint Exupery Airport, Marseille Provence Airport, Toulouse Blagnac Airport, and Nice Cote d’Azur Airport.

The airlines currently operates a mixed fleet of Airbus and Boeing widebody jets on long-haul routes, and operates Airbus A320 family aircraft on short-haul routes.

Air France seating is divided into four cabins: Economy, Business Economy, Business, and La Premiere (select aircraft only). All cabins on all long-haul aircraft have personal screens with Audio Video On Demand (AVOD).

Inflight Food

Air France serves complimentary champagne to passengers in all classes. For La Premiere, the first class menu is prepared by the chef of Le Grand Vefour, Guy Martin. The menu features hors d’oeuvres, entrees, bread basket, and cheeses, as well as a dessert cart with pastries, petit fours, and tartlets.

Inflight Entertainment

Air France long-haul flights include Audio Video On Demand (AVOD) in all cabins. Inflight entertainment features various channels of video, audio, music, and games. Air France Magazine, the airlines’ inflight publication is also available on each seat, as well as Air France Madame, a fashion luxury magazine (included in La Premiere and Business cabins). On all flights, the movies are available in different languages such as English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, and Korean.

La Premiere’s restaurant and menu was also awarded for the best food selection in a first-class lounge. Other European awards for Air France include best customer service innovation for AF Press (the airlines’ digital press app) by the third edition of Echo touristique magazine’s Innovation Awards and the Janus du Commerce prize by French Design Institute for Noe Duchaufour-Lawrance’s design of the Business lounge in Hall M at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. In Asia, Air France was awarded the Best Brand Award 2013 by the South Korean newspaper Korea Herald and the Best European Airline in China by the TTG China Travel Awards 2014.
