Flights from Kerikeri

Kerikeri Airport, also known as the Bay of Islands Airport, is an airport in Kerikeri, a popular tourist destination in New Zealand. The airport was initially a grass strip created in the early 1930s, and was overcome by the Department of National Defence during the Second World War. It was used for Royal New Zealand Air Force training, and after the war, was turned back over to the care of the local government.
The airport has three runways: two grass and one paved asphalt runway measuring 1,608 feet, 2,247 feet, and 3,904 feet respectively. The airport also has one terminal building, and is mainly used for tourism and leisure travel purposes. Airlines that travel to the destination include Air New Zealand Link operated by Air Nelson, and Air New Zealand Link, which is operated by Eagle Airways. Both airlines serve flights going to Auckland, but the Eagle Airways service will end come February 2015.
The airport is also in a transition period as it will undergo a major facelift. A huge expansion of the runway and the apron is seen in the near future to allow for two aircraft to park at once. The project will be solely paid for and handled by Air New Zealand, the national airline and flag carrier of the country.
