The Calgary International Airport, originally named as McCall Field, is a public-type airport that serves the greater Calgary Area. It is operated by the Calgary Airport Authority, and is owned by state entity Transport Canada, who also operates several airports in the country. The airport offers scheduled non-stop flights to major cities in the Canadian sub-continent, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, and several cities and countries in East Asia.

The Calgary International Airport serves as headquarters for WestJet and as a hub airport for Air Canada and Air Canada Express. The airport is one of eight Canadian airports with US border pre-clearance facilities, along with Vancouver International, Toronto Pearson, and others. The airport was named as one of Alberta's Top Employers. It is also the third busiest airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic and aircraft movements, handling some 15 million passengers in 2014, and 244,000 movements in 2013.

Banff – Banff is a town within the Banff National Park in Alberta, located along the Trans-Canada Highway, in the Alberta's Rockies approximately 126 kilometres west of Calgary. The town was the first municipality to be incorporated within a Canadian National Park, and the community with the second highest elevation in Alberta after Lake Louise. Banff is best enjoyed outdoors – as it is a resort town that is one of Canada's most popular tourist destinations. It is known for its mountainous surroundings and hot springs, a perfect destination for outdoor sports that feature extensive hiking, biking, scrambling, and skiing. Sunshine Village, Ski Norquay, and Lake Louise Mountain Resort are the three nearby ski resorts that are located within the national park, and within the Banff conurbation.

From Canada's Calgary International Airport, travellers may visit various areas in the United States and the Caribbean, as part of its short-haul roster. From Canada, fly to the US cities of Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Seattle, Dallas, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Chicago, and many more, or explore the islands of the Caribbean for some change in sceneries. In the city of Las Vegas, Nevada, for example, one can see the impressive Aquarium at The Mirage; The Adventuredome at Circus Circus, the largest indoor theme park in America; The Auto Collections; Botanical Gardens; and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.
