Arriving in Kathmandu

Kathmandu Airport (KTM), also known as Tribhuvan International Airport, is the biggest facility of its kind in Nepal. It's found 6km from Kathmandu city centre.

Only 1 bus company has the right to pull up to the terminal, making the short trip into the city. This service stops at 6pm each day. Other bus companies pull up to the airport gates and wait for passengers there.

Taxis also wait outside the terminal. Both pre-paid and metered cabs are available, but be sure you have an agreement with your driver before you set off to avoid a nasty fare when you arrive.
