Auckland Airport

Transport to Auckland International airport from downtown Auckland is straightforward with buses every 10 minutes from 7am to 7pm and every half an hour through the night. 

There are also a choice of set price shuttles that service other suburbs and metered taxis. 

The single international terminal building is 15 minutes walk from the domestic terminal along an outside walkway with free shuttle buses every 10-15 minutes. 

The drive from downtown Auckland takes between 45 minutes to an hour. 

Information on flying into Moscow:

The majority of airlines travelling the Auckland to Moscow route use Sheremetyevo International airport which is the hub for Aeroflot. The airport is 30 km from the centre of Moscow, with the Aeroexpress train the quickest way to get there taking between 30 and 40 minutes to Belorussky Station and leaving every half-hour. There are also buses, taxis and private cars available. The airport has three terminals, D,E and F connected by walking galleries with terminals A,B and C connected by a free shuttle bus. The airport has booking agencies for both Moscow hotels and rental car companies.

Other important information to note:

  • Time and climate difference between Auckland and Moscow Auckland is ten hours ahead of Moscow. Moscow is known for brutally cold winters with temperatures sometimes dropping down to minus 10°C. Summers can match Auckland weather with June July and August often in the mid-20 °C 
  • Travel requirements –Travellers will need a current passport and Russian visa prior to flying.  Check-in time is usually three hours prior to departure and it is advised to check with your carrier. 
  • Cost of living difference between Moscow  and Auckland Consumer prices are estimated to be about 45% less in Moscow than Auckland.  A 0.5 litre draught beer will cost just under $2 in Moscow compared to $8 in Auckland.
