Timaru Airport is a small public airport located in Timaru, New Zealand. It is situated in 4 km north of the suburb Washdyke. Officially called Richard Pearse Airport, the airport is named after local pioneer aviator Richard Pearse.

Aigantighe Art Gallery - Founded in 1956, Aigantighe Art Gallery is the primary house of art in South Canterbury. It offers interesting exhibitions, education programmes, and a rich public art collection comprising of New Zealand, Pacific, Asian, and European artworks spanning from the 16th century to present. The museum also features a sculpture garden.
Caroline Bay Carnival - Caroline Bay Carnival is an annual event held from Boxing Day (26 December) to mid-January. The event entails games, concerts, and rides that cater to both children and adults, and everyone in between. Entrance to the carnival and the concerts are free, but the rides have individual rates.
Timaru Botanic Gardens - The Timaru Botanic Gardens span over 19 hectares of land in south Timaru. Attractions found within the Gardens include the Graeme Paterson Conservatory and Fernery, stunning ornamental ponds, an aviary, the Anderson Rose Garden, Species Rose Garden, a collection of Native plants, a collection of threatened plants, the Queen Victoria Garden, and the Cenotaph and War Memorial Wall. There is also an interpretive centre and a playground for children.
Timaru Airport does not offer any international service, short-haul or otherwise. Travellers from Timaru who wish to leave the country are advised to book a flight to the international airport in Wellington, and from there catch a flight to Melbourne, Gold Coast, or Sydney, all destinations in Australia. Sydney is home to one of the most famous structures of Australia, the iconic Sydney Opera House. The multi-venue performing arts centre offers several performance venues of varying sizes, a recording studio, several restaurants, cafes, and bars, and retail outlets.
