Wellington International Airport (WLG) is found 9 kilometres from the CBD. It is 1 of 4 airports in New Zealand that has direct flights to the Gold Coast. Remember that for international flights you should arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before take-off.
The single terminal has a number of handy features for those waiting for international flights. Currency exchange is available to get Australian dollars, complimentary showers can be found before the departure gates and free Wi-Fi gives you an easy way to pass the time.
The majority of the airport's restaurants and shops are grouped together before you get to the departure gates, but airline lounges and some cafes are found by the boarding area.
Arriving in Gold Coast
Gold Coast Airport (OOL) is a rapidly growing airport in southern Queensland, 25km from Surfers Paradise.
The airport has a single terminal for all flights. As you arrive, you'll go through immigration, pick up your baggage and go through customs.
Once in the arrival hall, you have the option to take out Australian money, grab a bite to eat or use the airport's Wi-Fi. To the left is the transit centre, while outside and to the right are the bus stops and the taxi rank.
