Auckland Airport (AKL), found 21km from the city centre, is open 24 hours a day. Passengers can reach the airport by bus, taxi or shuttle services, or by driving and using the onsite parking.

Auckland has a dedicated terminal for international flights, just 500m from the Domestic Terminal. The International Terminal has all of its check-in counters on the ground floor. Security checks, departures and most of the shops and restaurants are upstairs.

The airport's facilities are split fairly evenly before and after security checks, although airport lounges and duty-free items are only found once you've had your bags scanned.

Arriving in Jakarta
