Auckland International (AKL) is New Zealand's largest and busiest airport. It has 2 terminals – one for international flights and one for domestic flights. These terminals are 500m apart, connected by a walkway and a free shuttle bus that runs every 15 minutes.

The airport is around 25 minutes from the city centre by taxi. This journey can cost up to $100. Buses are cheaper, ranging from $12 to $29 depending on the service. You can also hire a car from Dunedin Airport if you prefer to drive yourself.
