Azerbaijan Carpet Museum - The Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, formerly the State Museum of Azerbaijan Carpet and Applied Art, is a museum that features Azerbaijani carpets and various rug items of different weaving techniques and materials and from various periods, including from 17th-20th centuries. The museum also has a collection of more than 10,000 ceramics, metal works of the 14th century, and jewellery from the Bronze Age.
Maiden Tower - The Maiden Tower, locally called Giz Galasi, is an ancient tower in the Old City in Baku. The tower was built as part of the walled city of Baku in the 12th century. Along with the Shirvanshah's Palace from the 15th Century, the tower has been inscribed under the UNESCO World Heritage List of Historical Monuments. The Maiden Tower provides views of the Old City, and houses a gift shop and a museum that tells of the story of historic evolution of the city.
Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape - Gobustan National Park is a hill and mountain site in the southeast end of Azerbaijan's Greater Caucasus mountain Range. It is best known for being very abundant in archaeological monuments, with over 6,000 rock engravings that date back between 5,000 - 40,000 years, as well as remains of formerly inhabited caves, settlements, and burials from the Upper Paleolithic to the Middle Ages. As such, the national park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered to be of 'outstanding universal value'.
From Azerbaijan, don't miss flying off to Frankfurt to see all that the largest city in the German state of Hesse has to offer. The top tourist attractions include the picturesque public square, the Römerberg, the Goethe House and Museum, Senckenberg Natural History Museum, Art City: The Frankfurt Museum of Modern Art, and the majestic St. Bartholomew's Cathedral.
