Officially the Nation of Brunei, the Abode of Peace, Brunei is located on the northern coast of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. The country is surrounded by the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. Brunei temperatures have been recorded at an annual average high of 31.5 degrees Celsius, or 88.7 degrees Fahrenheit, average low of 23.5 degrees Celsius or 74.3 degrees Fahrenheit, and average of 27.6 degrees Celsius, or 81.7 degrees Fahrenheit. The country is divided into four districts, and further divided into 38 subdistricts. The districts include Belait, Brunei-Muara, Temburong, and Tutong, while some of the subdistricts are Sengkurong, Kuala Belait, Seria, Sungai Lian, Pengkalan Batu, and Kilanas, to name a few. The point of interest within the sultanate includes the Istana Nurul Iman, also known as the world’s largest residential palace in occupation. It serves as the residence of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and has an estimated value of around $600 million. Other destinations include the Belalong National Park, Jerudong Park, and Blue Water Wreck, to name a few. Belalong National Park serves as a reserve in the Borneo rainforest; it has a canopy walk along with a research centre within the park’s headquarter. Jerudong Park, unlike any other attraction, is a closed theme park. There have been attempts to revive the park, but the park still has a sad air around it. Scuba diving by Blue Water Wreck can also be done in Brunei. Blue Water Wreck is known for its blue waters, and has been completely preserved and intact.

The city is among the world’s top tourist spots and has been named at one point as the most visited city under the MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index.
Among the long-haul destinations to be visited from Brunei are London via London Heathrow Airport, and Dubai via Dubai International Airport, and Jeddah via King Abdulaziz International Airport. These destinations can be reached in eight to 14 hours, give or take. London, as the capital of England and the United Kingdom, features the Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, and Marble Arch among others. The city is the most populous in all of United Kingdom. Dubai is the most expensive city in the Middle East, and the 22nd most expensive in the world. Some of Dubai’s notable spots include Bastakiya District, Dubai Museum, Souks, and Shindagha District. Jeddah, the major urban centre of western Saudi Arabia, is also the largest city in the Makkah Province. It works as the primary gateway to Mecca, the holiest city of the Islamic religion.
