Departing from Dunedin

Dunedin Airport (DUN), known to some locals as Momona Airport, is predominantly a domestic airport, although it is possible to get a direct flight to Brisbane as well.

The airport is almost 30km from Dunedin city centre, which takes 25 minutes by road. In a taxi, this can cost between $80 and $100. A Super Shuttle service is also available for $25.

For domestic flights, you should be at the airport at least 1 hour before your flight.

While you wait to board your plane, you can grab a coffee or some sushi, play in the arcade or buy any last-minute necessities.

Arriving in Wellington

Although Wellington Airport (WLG) is one of New Zealand's bigger airports, it has a single terminal for all its flights.

From the arrival gates, there's a clear walkway to the central area of the airport where you can pick up your checked luggage, browse the shops and cafes or simply make your way to the exit.

Outside the terminal, you'll find the taxi rank ($30-$40 to the city) and the bus stop ($9 to the city). Car hire at Wellington Airport is available too, simply speak to one of the represented companies inside the terminal. The drive into the city should take around 15 minutes.
