Departing from Sydney
Sydney Airport (SYD) can be reached in 13 minutes from the CBD on the AirportLink train. Driving takes slightly longer, especially if there's traffic. It's recommended that you arrive for check-in at least 1 hour before domestic flights, so make sure you leave enough travel time.
The airport is divided into 3 terminals. Qantas flights use all 3, with other flights to Perth using Terminal 2 (Domestic Terminal). You'll find a large selection of shops, eateries and other facilities on both sides of the security checks.
Arriving in Perth
Perth Airport (PER) has 4 terminals, with Terminals 2 to 4 used by domestic flights (Terminal 1 for international flights). These are organised according to the airline:
- Terminal 2 for Tigerair and Virgin Australia
- Terminal 3 for Jetstar
- Terminal 4 for Qantas
The Jetstar and Qantas terminals are in the same building, at the other end of the airport to main building. Buses, taxis and car hire are available at both terminal buildings. A local bus takes around 40 minutes to get to Perth CBD (from AU$5). The drive is 10-15 minutes by car or taxi (around AU$30).
